Historically different types of equipment has been used to sterilise all the tools of the industry. Some of these machines included UV light or glass bead “sterilisers” and chemical solutions. Even though these tools are currently legal, they don’t kill all the bacteria fungi and viruses that can spread infections. They disinfect. Indisputably the best solution for your beauty salon is an autoclave. Each item used on a patient should be sealed in an autoclave pouch for individual use, sterilised and stored, ready for the next patient.

UV light boxes, Glass bead systems, Barbicide …. disinfect instruments. THEY DO NOT STERILISE.

Disinfection is defined as destruction of many pathogenic and other kinds of microorganisms by physical or chemical means. Disinfection is less effective than sterilization, because it only destroys a percentage of pathogenic microorganisms. The Process

Prior to autoclaving, all instruments should be cleaned to remove visible debris.

The cleaned item can now be sealed in an autoclave pouch to fit your instruments, made of a specialised “steam porous” paper on the bottom side and a clear plastic on the topside so you can see the content

Most autoclave pouches are flat. Our recommended autoclave pouches have a third dimension – they expand to the height of your item! Available on a roll they can be dispensed with ease.

Once processed the colour indicator integrated into the autoclave bag will change colour to confirm sterilisation is complete.This bag can be stored to protect the contents from contamination and opened when required and the contents opened for each client for single use.

4. BurButler organiser for Nail Drills

The BurButler is an autoclavable silicon base with an autoclavable lid.

Any and all your drill bits will fit any of the 25 holes in the order you wish. Drill bits are easy to place and easy to remove and kept separate during the sterilisation process.

With 5 colours to choose from each provider can have a different colour for their own “kit” and duplicates to allow for use of one kit while the other(s) are being sterilised.

Each and every client can then have a sterile set of of drill bits for their nail care.
